This privacy policy applies to the The Disturbing: Chapter 1 app (the "Application") for mobile devices, created by Disturbing Studios (the "Service Provider") and offered free of charge with optional in-app purchases and advertising. The Application is provided "AS IS".
This policy explains what information the Application accesses and collects, how it is used, and the third-party services it relies on.
When you download and use the Application, the following information may be collected automatically:
The Application does not require you to create an account, and the Service Provider does not ask you to provide your name, email address, or other personal contact details in order to use it.
The Application is an augmented-reality experience and requires access to your device's camera and microphone in order to record your real environment and play that footage back with overlaid effects. This is the core function of the app.
To produce its augmented-reality effects, the Application performs processing on your device, which may include on-device machine-learning models (for example, depth estimation of the camera image). This processing happens locally on your device and the resulting data is not transmitted to the Service Provider.
The Application uses Google AdMob (provided by Google) to display optional rewarded advertisements that you may choose to watch in exchange for in-game benefits. To serve and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process:
In regions where it is required (such as the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), the Application uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request your consent before serving personalised ads. You can reset your advertising identifier or opt out of personalised advertising at any time through your device's settings (for example, under Settings → Google → Ads on Android).
For more information on how Google uses data from apps that use its services, see Google's Privacy & Terms and the AdMob documentation.
The Application offers optional in-app purchases (such as a premium upgrade and a scan boost). All purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. The Service Provider does not collect, receive, or store your payment card details or billing information; that information is handled solely by Google in accordance with its own privacy policy.
The Application relies on the following third-party services, which have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data:
The Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device. Approximate location (such as country or region) may be inferred from your IP address by the advertising service described above.
The Service Provider may disclose information:
To request data deletion, email disturbingstudios.publisher@gmail.com from the address associated with your request. We will delete the automatically collected data (advertising identifier and usage/diagnostic data) associated with your device. Recordings are stored only on your device and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the app.
You can stop all collection of information by the Application by uninstalling it, using the standard uninstall process for your device or app store. You can also reset or limit ad tracking through your device's advertising settings, and (where applicable) change your advertising consent choices within the app.
The Service Provider retains automatically collected information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Recordings remain on your device under your control. If you have questions about data the Service Provider holds, contact them at disturbingstudios.publisher@gmail.com.
The Application is not directed to children. Its content is intended for users aged 16 and older, and the Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Application, please contact the Service Provider at disturbingstudios.publisher@gmail.com so appropriate action can be taken.
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding your information and applies reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information it processes and maintains.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Application is deemed approval of any changes.
By using the Application, you consent to the processing of your information as set out in this Privacy Policy.
If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, please contact the Service Provider by email at disturbingstudios.publisher@gmail.com.
This policy is effective as of 2026-06-02.
